Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday night expressed deep shock at the death of renowned musician of the subcontinent and Nazrul researcher Sudhin Das.

In a condolence message, the prime minister recalled the invaluable contributions of Sudhin Das to the field of music.

‘His death is an irreparable loss to this field,’ she said.

Sheikh Hasina prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

The Ekushey Padak-winning singer breathed his last at about 8:20pm at the Apollo Hospitals in Dhaka. He was 87.
