Dhaka: A mild earthquake was felt in several places in the country including Dhaka city on Sunday morning at 07:05am.

There was no immediate report of casualties or damage.

The epicentre of the temblor was 23km North of Basugaon in India, where its magnitude was 5.6 on the Richter scale, the United States Geological Survey said.

The earthquake also jolted several places of neighbouring countries Nepal and Bhutan.
