Dhaka: Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif on Monday said if any demand is realiased from the government through terrorist acts that will remain as a bad instance.

“It’ll remain as a bad example if any demand is realiased from the government through terrorist acts in the name of non-stop blockade. It’s not possible to realise demand by carrying out terrorist acts in any civilised country,” he said.

The Awami League leader said this while addressing a press conference at its president office at Dhanmondi in the city.

Pointing at the BNP-led alliance, the ruling party leader said, “If they (BNP) withdraw their programme, we promise, the government will resist all subversive acts in 24 hours.”

He urged the civil society members to advise BNP to stop subversive acts saying, “The country’s present crisis is petrol bomb attack, though BNP has claimed it’s not involved in such attacks. Why will there be a dialogue with those carrying out terrorist acts?”

Awami League organising secretary Ahmed Hossain was, among others, present at the press conference.
