Charge framing in Hotel Raintree rape case 13 July

Dhaka: A Dhaka court fixed 13 July for framing charge against five accused in a case filed over the rape of two university students at Hotel Raintree in Banani.
The Judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal‐2 Shafiul Azam set the date on Sunday morning after accepting a time petition filed by the defendant Nayeem Ashraf’s lawyer.
Earlier, on 19 June, the court set 9 July as the date to frame charges rejecting the bail pleas of the five accused, including Shafat and Shadman, in the rape case.
Shafat Ahmed and Nayem Ashraf were charged for rape and Shadman Sakif, Shafat’s driver Billal Hossain and bodyguard Rahmat Ali for assisting in the offence.
On 8 June, police pressed charges against all the accused in the case.
Earlier, the case filed on charge of the rape of two university students in a Banani hotel was transferred to the tribunal from the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Delwar Hossain on 11 June.
Two female private university students were allegedly raped at Raintree hotel in Banani of the capital on 28 March. One of the victims filed a case with Banani Police Station on 6 May.
