Dhaka: Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam is going to be removed from the ministry. Ashraful Islam will work as a minister without a portfolio if he is removed.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday ordered cabinet secretary Mosharraf Hossain to remove Ashraful Islam, who is also the general secretary of the ruling Awami League, during a meeting of Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC).
