Dhaka: An unidentified middle-aged man was killed and three others, including the driver of the bus and his helper, were injured as the bus collided with the divider, in the city’s Shahbagh crossing on Tuesday.

Sources at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said the driver of the Bangla Motor-bound bus of ‘Dhaka Paribahan’ (from the direction of Matshya Bhaban) lost control over his steering at the Shahbagh intersection, and hit the divider at about 4:00pm.

The driver of the bus Nowab Ali, his helper Joynal Islam, one pedestrian Amena Begum and another unidentified man aged around 55, were injured in the incident.

They were rushed to the DMCH where the unidentified man, wearing a white t-shirt and trousers, succumbed to his injuries at about 4:30 pm.

The body was sent to the DMCH for autopsy and kept in the morgue.
