Dhaka: Four people including wife of Jatiya Sangsad’s Whip Atiur Rahman Atique, daughter, one relative and their driver were injured as a truck hit their private car in front of the Radisson Hotel in Dhaka, police and hospital authorities said. 

The Cantonment police said the accident occurred at about 2:45am on Friday while the victims were returning to their JS dormitories in Dhaka from Sherpur.

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

The Whip’s wife Shanto Noor, in his fifties, was shifted to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation from DMCH while two others, Rubel, in his thirties, and driver Wasim, believe to be 30, were undergoing treatment at DMCH and Whip’s daughter Sadia Rahman

Apu, who is 12 years old, took first aid there.

No case was filed with concerned police.

Whip’s private car was also partially damaged in the accident, police added.

None could be arrested in this connection.
