Dhaka: BNP standing committee member Tariqul Islam was admitted to a city hospital on Saturday as he fell sick.

The BNP senior leader was taken to Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital at about 10:00am after he complained of chest pain, BNP chairperson’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan said.

He said Tariqul, a former information minister, has long been suffering from heart diseases, diabetes and old-age complications.

The BNP leader has been kept at the CCU of the hospital under Professor Rafiqul Islam.
