Mosharraf takes over as new LGRD minister
Dhaka: Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain officially took over the charge of the minister of Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives ministry on Sunday morning.
LGRD state minister and Jatiya Party leader Moshiur Rahman Ranga, LGRD secretary Abdul Malek and cooperative division secretary MA Kader Sarkar greeted Khandaker Mosharraf as he reached at the secretariat. The state minister and secretaries handed over the charge of minister to Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain at about 11:30am.
Earlier on 9 July, the Cabinet division issued a gazette notification stating Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain to replace Syed Ahsraf.
The gazette notification also said Mosharraf will also perform as the Minister of the Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment minister as his additional charge.
Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam was removed from the LGRD and Cooperatives Ministry following his absence in an ECNEC meeting and has been made minister without portfolio on the same day.
