Another accused held in Rajon murder case

Sylhet: Police on Monday held another man, Ismail Hossain Ablus, for his alleged involvement in the killing of Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, a minor boy who was brutally beaten to death for his alleged involvement in theft.
Ismail Hossain, whose name is not mentioned in the case statement filed with Jalalabad police, was held from Lamakazi area under the sadar upazila on Monday afternoon for providing shelter to an accused of the murder case.
Jalalabad police filed a case against four people, including Muhit, his brother Quamrul Islam, their associate, Ali Haider alias Ali, and guard Moyna Mia alias Boro Moyna, in this connection.
Earlier, on Saturday night, a video footage which showed Samiul Alam Rajon was tortured to death by a mob for allegedly stealing at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city on 8 July (Wednesday) triggered an outcry.
The 28-minute video clip showed two people beating Rajon mercilessly after tying him up with a pole at the workshop.
It assumed that a group of 5-6 people were involved in the torture.
The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet.
The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site Youtube which caused an outcry.
