Man held for ‘filming’ Rajon murder

Sylhet: Police arrested another accused in recording teenage boy Rajon’s murder and releasing the footage on the internet at Jangail village in sadar upazila on Wednesday night.
The arrestee is Nur Miah, in his twenties, who took the video footage of the incident.
Police arrested Nur from the village at about 10:45pm, said Akhter Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station.

A total of seven people have so far been arrested in connection with the murder of the teenage boy.
Earlier, the 13-year-old boy, Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali village in sadar upazila, was brutally tortured to death over theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city on 8 July.
The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet.
The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site Youtube which caused an outcry.
The video footage of the teenage boy being brutally tortured raised an outburst on 12 July.
Jalalabad police filed a case against four people, including Muhit, his brother Quamrul Islam, their associate, Ali Haider alias Ali, and guard Moyna Mia alias Boro Moyna, in this connection.
Rajon died of brain haemorrhage following the torture, said the autopsy report on Monday.
