Dhaka: A minor boy was killed after being hit by a ferry at Sadarghat ferry terminal on Friday.

The ill-fated boy is Md Dipu, 13, son of Shahabuddin of Dakkhin Degholdi area in Bhola.

He was a student of class V at Natun Kuri School in Jatrabari area in the city. He had been living with relatives at a house near Tony Tower of Jastrabari.

The tragic incident took place at Sadarghat ferry terminal on Friday morning as he was going to his village in Bhola with his uncle Fakhrul.

When Dipu was about to a board on a Bhola-bound ferry, another ferry suddenly hit him around 7:00 am, said Fakrul, the uncle of the boy.

Critically injured, Dipu was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at about 12:30 pm.
