Sylhet: Police arrested another accused in the gruesome killing of minor boy Rajon from Tuker Bazar in Shohortali area in the city on Saturday noon.

The arrestee is a suspect named in the FIR of the case.

The arrestee allegedly helped in hiding the body of Rajon after the gruesome killing and later tried to intimidate Rajon’s father to stop him from filing a case in connection with the murder.

Jalalabad Police officer-in-charge Akhter Hossain confirmed the arrest.

With this arrest, nine people have so far been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder.

Earlier on 8 July, the 13-year-old boy, Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali village in Sadar upazila, was brutally tortured to death over a theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city.

The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet.

The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site Youtube which caused a widespread outcry.
