JCD president Rajib held

Dhaka: Police detained Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) central president Rajib Ahsan and five others allegedly with yaba tablets in Dumki upazila of Patuakhali at about 11:00pm on Sunday.
Dumki police detained them six with 45 pieces yaba tablets after raiding a private car at Lebukhali ferry terminal on Barisal-Patuakhali Highway, said Patuakhali additional superintendent of police Mohammad Foyez Ahmed in a press conference arranged in midnight at Patuakhali detective branch office.
Foyez Ahmed said as police were informed that a drug trafficking group would be going to Kuakata from Barisal, a police team led by Dumki Police officer-in-charge Ali Azam was waiting at Lebukhali ferry terminal.
Police said that the political identities of the other arrestees could not be known immediately.
Ahsan is accused of several cases filed for subversive acts, added police.
