Dhaka: A lawyer of Gazipur Judge Court reportedly committed suicide at his Uttara residence in the city on Monday.

The deceased is Advocate Gazi Azaharul Islam, 50, a resident of Road no-3 of Uttara Sector 13 under Uttara West police station.

Contacted, Uttara West police Inspector (Investigation) Biplob Kumar Shill said family members of Advocate Azaharul Islam found him hanging from the ceiling of a room at about 8:30am and took him to a local hospital.

He was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead at about 12:45pm.

Advocate Gazi Azaharul Islam committed suicide due to family fued, Inspector Biplob said quoting family members of the deceased.

The body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
