Dhaka: The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has issued a red alert notice on Bangladesh expatriate Kamrul Islam, one of the main accused in killing 13-year-old Rajon in Sylhet.

‘Bangladesh requested the Interpol for issuing red alert on Kamrul Islam, who is now under custody of Saudi Arabian police, to bring back,’ Assistant Inspector General (AIG) NCB (Interpol) Mahbubur Rahman said over phone.

He said the Saudi authority has also interested to send Kamrul through Interpol.

‘The Saudi government offices would remain closed till today for Eid-ul-Fitr and Kamrul’s repatriation might have to wait till the offices reopen,’ Mahbub said.

According to the Interpol website, Kamrul Islam is wanted by the judicial authorities of Bangladesh for prosecution purpose.

The Interpol also published the particulars of Kamrul for identification including name, date of birth, place of birth and nationality.

Earlier, Saudi Arabian police arrested Kamrul from Jeddah with the help of some Bangladeshi migrants on charges of Samiul Alam Rajon’s murder case in Sylhet.
