Dhaka: A young man was killed as a bus ran over him in the capital’s Shewrapara on Friday morning.

The victim is Selim, in his twenties, of Tangail. He was a resident of Iqbal Road area of West Shewrapara.

Witnesses said Selim was waiting to get on a bus at Shewrapara bus stand in the morning. Suddenly, a New Market-bound bus of Safety Paribahan from Mirpur 12 hit him and fled from the scene at about 7:45am and left Selim died on the spot.

A team of Kafrul police went to the spot and recovered the body.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
