Sylhet: Police arrested another accused in the killing of minor boy Rajon from Sheikh Para in Sadar upazila on early Saturday.

The arrestee was identified as Ayaz Ali, 40, an eyewitnesses to the brutal torture that caused Rajon’s death.

Police said a joint team of detectives and Jalalabad Police conducted a raid on the house of Ayaz in the area and arrested him at about 1:00am.

With the arrest of Ayaz, 13 people have so far been arrested in connection with the heinous killing.

Earlier on 8 July, the 13-year-old boy, Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, was brutally tortured to death over a theft allegation at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city.

The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet.

The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site YouTube which caused a widespread outcry.
