A woman has filed a rape case against her husband with a Barguna court, which in its turn has taken cognizance of the charge.

Women and Children Repression Tribunal Judge Shariful Islam on Sunday asked the local municipality councillor to submit a report to the court after investigating the allegation, reports UNB.

According to the case statement, Zahirul Islam of Nayakata road in Barguna municipality area and Reba Begum of Uttar Lakurtala in Sadar upazila got married 18 years back. They have two children.

The couple got separated in 2005 after Reba filed a dowry case against Shariful with a local court.

They remarried each other on 5 May this year and started living together after the matter was settled by a local arbitration.

But Zhairul  reportedly divorced Reba again on 8 May, only three days after remarrying her, keeping the matter a secret and continued to live with her. On 20 July Reba filed the case after she came to know about the divorce
