Nawabganj: A woman was allegedly killed by her husband in Nawabganj upazila in Nawabganj, on the outskirts of the capital, on Sunday.

The deceased is Shahnaj Begum, in her thirties, wife of Mohammad Shahin, a resident of Balihari village of Swarupkhali upazila in Pirojpur.

The couple used to live in a rented house at Komorganj village in Nawabganj.

Police suspected that Shahin hit Shahnaj in the head with a hammer over a family feud early in the morning.

Police recovered the body at noon and seized the hammer from the spot.

The Nawabganj police said the body bore injury mark on its head.

Shahin went into hiding after the incident.
