Joypurhat: Train communication on the Parbotipur-Khulna and Chilahati-Rajshahi routes has remained suspended as a freight train derailed in Panchbibi upazila on Wednesday morning.

Station master of the rail station SK Sarkar said four wheels of the freight train which started from Parbotipur veered off the track in the area at about 8:50am, halting train services on the Parbotipur-Khulna and Chilahati-Rajshahi routes.

No one was injured in the incident.

A salvage train from Parbotipur rail junction started for the spot to clear the track.
