Facebook hacker held

Dhaka: Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested a Facebook hacker from Merul Badda in the city on Tuesday night.
The arrested was identified as Mahmudul Hasan, 20, a 4th semester student of Computer science of East West University.
Acting on a tip-off, a DB team conducted a raid at Merul Badda area in the night and arrested him and recovered one computer and one mobile set from his possession.
Briefing reporters at DMP media centre, Joint Commissioner (DB) Monirul Islam said Mahmudul was a ‘perverted hacker’. He used to usually hack Facebook accounts of females, he added.
Recently a female lodged a complaint against Mahmudul with Jatrabari police station under Information communication and Technology (Amendment) Act and following her allegation, the DB police arrested him, the Joint Commissioner (DB) said.
He said that the arrested hacker revealed that he has been involved in hacking Facebook accounts for a longtime. “He used to contact female Facebook account holders after hacking their account. Then he directly contacted them and offered them to get intimate with him,” Monir said quoting the arrested hacker.
If any female denied the proposal, he threatened them of uploading their objectionable pictures and information on social media, the Joint Commissioner (DB) added.
