Dhaka: Police recovered the body of a Khadem, caretaker of a mosque in the capital’s Dhanmondi area on Thursday night.
The deceased is Dulal Gazi, nearly 50 years old, caretaker of Eidgah Jam-e-Mosque at Dhanmondi, a resident of Bakerganj upazila in Barisal.

Police said Dulal had been working at the mosque for the last 18 years.

The Dhanmondi model police said Dulal’s body was found lying on the floor of imam’s room, which is on the second floor of the four-storeyed mosque, with a towel wrapped around his neck at about 11:45pm.

Primarily the incident is believed to be a theft as police found the imam’s locker broken.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
