Jamaat leader arrested in Barisal

Barisal: Police arrested a local leader of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami from City College area of the district on Thursday morning.

The arrestee was Jamaat district (West) unit ameer Habibur Rahman.

A team of police raided the area and arrested Habibur at about 10:00am, said Kotwali Model Police officer-in-charge (OC) Sakhawat Hossain.

Habibur Rahman was arrested on charge of different subversive activities, the OC added.
