The Awami League has called for closing down some fake Facebook pages that are being operated under the names of the party, Bangabandhu, the prime minister, and her family members.

In a post published on AL’s verified official Facebook page, unidentified admins of these fake pages were requested to unpublish them.

‘It is noticed with concern that some fake Facebook pages are publishing confusing information and news about AL, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Radwan Mujib Siddiq, and Sayma Wazed Putul,’ said the post.

It was clearly stated in the post that no such page is run by any of the above mentioned persons.

The post from AL’s verified page also claimed that these fake pages are falsifying about their admins by saying that these are official and operated by the prime minister and her family members.
