Dhaka: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a youth from FDC gate area in Tejgaon in Dhaka on Monday in connection with threatening DNCC mayor Annisul Huq.

The arrestee was identified as SA Nahid Happy.

Rab-2 commanding officer Lt. Col SM Masud Rana said Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq received a threat through his mobile phone on 14 July. A General Diary was registered with Gulshan police station on Monday.

Following the GD, a team of Rab-2 started investigation into the matter and arrested Happy from near FDC gate at about 4:40pm, he said.

Some 121 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from his possession, he added.
