Narayanganj: A trader was shot to death in a bus in Fatullah of Sadar upazila on Monday night.

The deceased is Nurul Islam, who owned a mobile phone set shop in Fatullah Shibu Market area, also used to reside in Dhaka.

Hospital authorities said Nurul was returning to his residence in the capital from his shop by an Utsab Paribahan bus.

A group of miscreants got into the bus after it stopped at Mahmudpur on Narayanganj-Dhaka Link Road at about 10:15pm to pick passengers.

The miscreants soon opened fire on the trader and fled from the scene.

Other passengers of the bus took him to Narayanganj Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The reason behind the murder could not be known yet.
