'Khaleda eating dry foods'

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia has been eating dry foods since Thursday night. BNP alleges that the situation has been created because police is obstructing to enter the BNP office with foods.
Syrul Kabir Khan, an official of the BNP chairperson's press wing said ‘BNP chairperson along with other officials has been eating dry foods since Thursday night.’
Another official Shamsuddin Didar said ‘police hindered while food was being brought from Khaleda Zia’s brother Saeed Eskander’s house last night. Police also did not allow to bring food for the officials. Till then, no food is being allowed.’
Didar said ‘a van carrying food and water was stopped at the gate of the Gulshan office on Friday afternoon.’
While police was taking the van away, a police man preferring anonymity said ‘we don’t know where the food is being taken away? Ask the higher officials. We don’t know anything.’
No one received the phone while it was tried to connect the Gulshan police station.
Meanwhile, responding to a question during a briefing at the United Nations head-quarter, United Nations Secretary General’s Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said ‘the secretary general is anxious about the issue and he wants peaceful solution to the ongoing political instability. The Assistant Secretary General Taranco is constantly looking into the issue.’
Khaleda is ‘confined’ to her Gilshan office in capital since January 3.
