BNP-Jamaat violence affect pass rate: PM
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the success rate in HSC and equivalent examinations would have been better if the BNP-Jamaat alliance dropped their violence during the examinations.
Sheikh Minister made the remark in the result handover programme at Gonobhobon on Sunday morning.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the copy of the results to her at about 10:00am.
She said government is working for diversification and advancement of education. Government will establish more specialised universities, added prime minister.
The results of HSC and equivalent examinations 2015 have been announced with 69.6% success rate, which is 8.73% lower than that of last year.
A total of 42, 894 students achieved the grade point average (GPA)-5.
Education secretary Nazrul Islam Khan administrated the result handover programme in the presence of Nurul Islam Nahid.
Dhaka Education Board Chairman Abu Bakar Siddique, Rajshahi Eduction Board Chairman Mohammad Abul Hayat, Comilla Education Board Chairman Indrabhushan Bhowmik, Jessore Education Board Abdul Majid, Chittagong Education Board Chairman Mohammad Shahjahan, Barisal Education Board Chairman Mohammad Ziaul Haque, Sylhet Education Board Chairman Mamtaz Shahin, and Dinajpur Education Board Chairman Ahmed Hossain, Madrassah Education Board chairman AKM Saifullah, Technical Board Chairman Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman handed over results of their boards to Sheikh Hasina.
