A truck helper was killed in a petrol bomb attack in Battala area of Chandpur Sadar upazila on Wednesday.
The unidentified victim was around 45 years old, police said.

Locals said, miscreants hurled a patrol bomb at the tiles-laden truck on Chandpur-Comilla highway, in Ghosherhat area under Shahmahmudpur union at around 11.30pm on Wednesday.

The truck driver managed to escape the fire, but the helper was crushed under the wheels of the moving truck as he jumped off from it to save himself.  
He died on the spot as his upper part of the body was totally crushed. The upper parts of his body were found burnt in the fire, said Chandpur Sadar Police officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammadd Abdul Kaiyum.
The driver and owner of the vehicle made it safe in the attack, the police claimed but they could not trace them yet.
