Father killed by ‘drug addict’ son

Mymensingh: A man was hacked to death allegedly by his drug addict son at Borodangi village in Ishwarganj upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Alamgir Fakir, in his sixties, of the village.
Police said Manowar Fakir alias Manu Fakir, in his twenties, son of Alamgir demanded Tk 3,000 from his father at noon.
As Alamgir refused to give the money, there had been an altercation between the two over it.
At one stage, Manu hit Alamgir with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.
Informed by local people, police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue, said Ishwarganj Police officer-in-charge Borhan Uddin.
Meanwhile, police arrested Manu with the help of local people.
