Dhaka: The High Court has issued a rule asking why an order will not be given to form a law banning heavy school bags weighing more than ten percent weight of primary school children.

Besides, another rule has been issued so that the pre-primary students do not carry school bags.

A High court bench comprising judge Moinul Islam Chowdhury and judge Mohammad Ashraful Kamal passed the order on Tuesday after hearing on a PIL filed on the issue.

Law secretary, Education secretary, primary education director general and national human rights commission chairman have been asked to reply on the rule within two weeks.

Three lawyers SM Masud Hossain, Md Ziaul Haque, Md Anwarul Karim filed a PIL on Sunday attaching reports on media on this issue.
