ACC quizzes JP lawmaker Firoz Rashid
Dhaka: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday interrogated Jatiya Party presidium member Kazi Firoz Rashid in connection with an allegation of a house grabbing in the capital.
ACC deputy director Zulfikar Ali questioned him for nearly two hours starting from 10 am at the ACC head office, according to an official source.
Talking to reporters in front of the ACC head office while going out after facing grilling, Kazi Firoz Rashid denied the allegation of grabbing a house in the city.
‘I did grab any house…if I wanted to grab it, I can do this while I was a minister,’ he added.
Firoz informed that a case has been under trial in court over the land dispute, and he did not want to make any comments about the issue as it is under trial.
The ACC initiated a probe in March this year against the Jatiya Party leader for allegedly grabbing a house in the capital.
Earlier, the national anti-graft body received an allegation that Firoz Rashid in association with others grabbed a house in the city’s Dhanmondi area abusing his power.
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Mohammad Ali was the owner of the house.
Then his descendants took the house on lease from the government.
Later, Firoz reportedly grabbed the house by preparing fake documents.
