5 BCL men sued over fellow’s murder in Sylhet

Sylhet: A case was filed against five activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Madanmohan College unit, in connection with the killing of a fellow activist in the city on Wednesday.
The accused were Pranjit Das, Angur Miah, Rahul, Masud and Tajjib, students of the college and activists of BCL leader Parvej group.
Victim’s father Aklis Miah filed the case against the five BCL activists and 3-4 unidentified people with Kotwali Police Station on Thursday noon, officer-in-charge of the police station Sohel Ahmed said.
Meanwhile, police arrested two accused— Rahul and Pranjit— from different places of the city on Wednesday.
BCL activist Ali Ahmed, 19, a second year student of the college and son of Aklis Mia of Shilam village in Dakkhin Surma upazila, was killed in a factional clash over establishing control over Madanmohan College in Sylhet city on Wednesday.
