Dhaka: Two people were killed and two others injured in a gun attack at Madhya Badda in Dhaka on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Shamsu and Manik while the injured are Gama and Salam. Further details about the victims could not be known yet.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muntashirul Islam said a group of miscreants opened fire on the four while they were gossiping near the Water Tank at Adarsha Nagar around 9pm, leaving them injured.

Three of the injured - Shamsu, Manik and Gama - were rushed to United Hospital at Gulshan where the former two succumbed to their injuries, he said.

Salam was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The reason behind the gun attack could not be known.
