4 cops among 7 hurt in reported gunfight

Jessore: Seven people including four police members were injured during a reported shootout in Churamankati area of Jessore on Thursday night.
Police also recovered a shutter-gun and bullets from the spot.
The Kotwali police said miscreants abducted a man, named Abdul Aziz, from Jhikargacha in Jessore at about 8:00pm. A team of Kotwali police led by officer-in-charge Shikdar Akkas Ali chased the miscreants after they were informed about the abduction. The abductors opened fire to police in Churamankati area at about 11:30pm. Police also fired back to the miscreatns.
Police said four members of Kotwali took primary treatment and three miscreants were admitted to Jessore General Hospital.
The hospital authorities said Kotwali police officer-in-charge Jamal brought three injured to the hospital and said they were injured during mass beating.
