Another BCL man on police custody over fellow’s murder

Sylhet: A Sylhet court on Friday put Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist Angur Miah on police custody for three days in a case filed over the killing of a fellow activist at Madanmohan College in Sylhet on Wednesday.
Judge Anwarul Haque of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-3 passed the order when Kotwali police officer-in-charge Mosharref Hossain, also the investigation officer of the case, produced him before the court and sought for 5 days to quiz Angur Miah.
Police arrested Angur Miah on Thursday after getting information from another accused Pranajit, also a BCL activist.
Earlier on Thursday, the court placed Pranajit Das on a two-day remand in this case.
Victim’s father Aklis Miah filed the case against the five BCL activists, including Pranajit, and 3-4 unidentified people with Kotwali Police Station on Thursday noon.
BCL activist Ali Ahmed, 19, a 2nd year student of the college and son of Aklis Mia of Surma upazila, was killed in a factional clash at Madanmohan College in Sylhet city on Wednesday.
