Sylhet: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Friday claimed that the country’s overall law and order situation is good.

‘Except for several murders, the overall law-and-order situation is quite good,’ UNB quoted him as saying.

The minister made the remark while talking to reporters after distributing food at a Children Home at Bagbari in the city marking the 40^th death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

It is natural that when murders take place, everyone thinks there is a slide in the law and order, observed the minister.

He also said the government has already appointed 35,000 police members while 50,000 more will be recruited during its tenure to maintain the law and order situation.
