Injured JL leader dies at hospital
Dhaka: A local Juba League leader, who sustained bullet injuries in an attack by miscreants in the capital’s Wari area on Tuesday night, died at Square Hospital on Wednesday morning.
The deceased is Abdul Mannan, aged around 30, general secretary of the ward 31 unit of Juba League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League.
The Wari police said two miscreants on a motorcycle opened fire on Mannan in front of his residence in Nakshi Rupayon under Wari Police Station at about 10:30pm on Tuesday while he was getting down from a rickshaw.
With bullet wounds in the head and chest, he was first admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital and then shifted to Square Hospital at about 11:30pm as his condition deteriorated.
Later, he died at Square Hospital at about 7:00am on Wednesday.
