Dhaka: A 5-year-old boy, who was burnt in a fire incident at Ekoria Tila Bari in South Keraniganj area of Dhaka on Friday, died at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday morning.

The DMCH camp police said the deceased is Abdul Gani, son of Ripon, a resident of the area.

Earlier, Gani and four other members of his family were burnt when a fire broke out at their South Keraniganj residence.

Hearing hue and cry, local people went to the spot and rescued the victims.

Later they were taken to the Burn Unit of DMCH with severe burn injuries.
