Dhaka: Any allegation about Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal’s involvement in Sheikh Mujib assassination is baseless, said information minister Hasanul Haq Inu, also the president of JSD.

The attempts to implicate JSD in the killing of the country’s founding president Shikh Mujib by some Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party leaders are mysterious, said the leader.

Such initiatives would weaken the grand alliance government and conceal the offences of BNP-Jamaat-e-Islami, he added while addressing a press briefing in his ministry in Dhaka on Wednesday.  

Earlier on Sunday, Awami League leader Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim said JSD had created the ground of Bangabandhu killing.

Later JSD issued a protest letter. Several other BNP and Awami League leaders, however, held JSD responsible for the killing of Bangabandhu.
