Dhaka: The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) will announce the increased prices of gas and electricity in a press conference on Thursday afternoon.

BERC officials said the press meet is set to be held at Karwan Bazar’s TCB Building in Dhaka at about 4:00am.

The officials said the hikes will come into effect from 1 September.

The prices of different types gas will be hiked by around 25 per cent on an average.  

Earlier, prime minister’s energy adviser Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury on Wednesday discussed government’s decision to increase the price of gas and power in a meeting.
