Dhaka: Detective Branch (DB) of police on Saturday claimed that they have identified one of the killers of blogger Niladri Chattopadhyay Niloy.

He was identified from among the four people arrested earlier from different places at different times in connection with the gruesome murder, sources at the DB headquarters said.

The DB, however, did not mention the name of the person as they will send the four arrestees for test identification parade (TIP).

They will be produced before the witnesses of the incident to identify them, the sources added.

‘We’ve identified one but we don’t want to disclose his name as we’ll place them in TIP,’ Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) joint commissioner (DB) Monirul Islam told UNB.

On 7 August, Niloy was hacked to death by unidentified assailants inside his fourth-floor flat at North Goran in the city. He was the fourth Bangladeshi blogger killed so far this year.
