Jatiya Party condemns attack on SUST teachers
Dhaka: Jatiya Party (JaPa) on Monday condemned the attack on the teachers of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League activists.
In a joint statement, JaPa chairman HM Ershad and its secretary general Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu also demanded immediate actions against the culprits.
Expressing concern over the incident, they said the attackers stigmatised the university campus through their heinous attack on the respected teachers.
If the perpetrators of the repulsive incident are not brought to justice, similar incident will happen again and again, they said.
Earlier on Sunday, seven SUST teachers were assaulted purportedly by leaders and activists of the university unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of the ruling Awami League, in front of the Vice-chancellor’s office.
The attack was carried out when the teachers were on a demonstration demanding the removal of VC Professor Aminul Haque Bhuiyan.
