Latif announces resignation from parliament
Expelled minister and Awami League presidium member Abdul Latif Siddique has announced his resignation from the 10th National Assembly.
He made the announcement to resign from his parliament membership while delivering a speech in the House on Tuesday.
‘I have decided to resign from my parliament membership and there is no controversy over the matter,’ the former Awami League leader said.
He also submitted his resignation letter to the Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.
Latif drew widespread criticism for his controversial remark on religion. He was sued in different places of the country and later arrested over the remark.
