Khulna-6 MP among 7 sued
Khulna: A case has been filed against seven people, including MP from Khulna-6 constituency Sheikh M Nurul Haque, for allegedly recruiting a local college principal illegally.
Kumira Women College Lecturer Abdul Gafur Morol filed the case against the seven people with Paikgachha senior judge court on Tuesday.
The other accused are Habibullah Bahar Habib, professor of Political Science department of Sarwar Khan Degree College in Digholia, Tridib Kanti Mandal, acting principal of Kopilmuni Degree College in Paikgachha, Kalidas Chandra, member of recruitment board, Dr. M Shahidullah, director of IBS department in Rajshahi University, Prof Gulshana ara Begum, principal of Khulna BL college, and a representative of vice-chancellor of National University (NU).
Judge of Paikgachha senior judge court M Habibur Rahman Chowdhury took cognizance of the charges and asked adv Sheikh M Nurul Haque, also vice-president of Khulna district unit of Awami League, Tridib Kanti Mandal and NU vice-chancellor representative to submit a report within the next seven days on why the ban on the recruitment will not be imposed.
The court also warned them to declare the recruitment illegal.
Plaintiff Abdul Gafur Morol alleged that Tridib Kanti Mandal went to Khulna BL College on 7 August in a bid to take part in an examination for recruiting for the principal post of Kopilmuni Degree College but he later returned home without even sitting the exam as the college governing committee president and local MP adv Sheikh Nurul Haque allegedly demanded Tk 20 lakh from him through BL college teacher Harun Sardar.
Later, Tridib Kanti Mandal was appointed to the Kopilmuni Degree College as principal in collusion with one another illegally.
