Dhaka: Heavy rainfall triggered by monsoon inundated many parts of the capital for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, causing unbearable woes to its dwellers.

Roads in many areas were submerged by rainwater due to the relentless rainfall.

The rain slowed down vehicular movement leading to traffic chaos on the roads.

The roads in Kakrail, Shanitanagar, Mouchak, Malibagh, Rampura, Badda, Moghbazar, Mirpur, Dhanmondi and Karwanbazar areas went under knee-deep water due to the rainfall.

Commuters faced problems in reaching their destinations due to the traffic mess triggered by the torrential rains.

Rickshaw-pullers and CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers charged excessive fares taking advantage of the inclement weather and traffic disorder.

However, BSS reports light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Barisal, Khulna, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with heavy to very heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and moderately heavy to heavy falls at places elsewhere over the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said a Met bulletin.
