Collision between 2 buses leaves 4 dead

Faridpur: Four people, including three women, were killed and over 100 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses at Talmar Jamtola Bazar on Dhaka-Barisal Highway in Sadar upazila on Wednesday afternoon.
Among the deceased, one was identified as Habib Sheikh, hailed from Moharazapur in Maksudpur upazila of Gopalganj district while identities of others could not be known immediately.
Faridpur Highway Police Assistant Superintendent Belal Hossain said the Faridpur bound-bus collided with the Bhanga bound-local bus coming from Tekerhat in the area at about 3:30pm, leaving over 100 passengers of the two vehicles injured.
On information, police and fire fighters rushed to the spot.
Sixty injured passengers were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where four of them succumbed their injuries, said Dr Gonpoti Biswas Shuvo, supervisor of Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Condition of 20 passengers was stated to be critical.
