Jessore bullet-hit man dies

Jessore: A restaurant owner named Bachchu Mian, who was bullet injured in an attack by miscreants in Raypara Jamtola area of Jessore on 28 August, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, police have arrested four suspected attackers in the case filed with Kotwali police in this connection. Among those, one identified as Sajib, a resident of Railgate Poschimpara area of the town, has confessed to the court that he fired at the restaurant owner.
Three other arrestees are Jony, of Pashchimpara, Torikul Islam, resident of Ashraf, and Imran.
According to the case statement, deceased Bachchu and his elder brother Mohammad Ali used to run a restaurant in front of the rail station. The two brothers had been at loggerheads with one Yasin and his followers that include the accused mentioned above over establishing supremacy in Raypara area.
As a sequel to the enmity, Yasin and his associates fired three bullets at Bachchu in front of a tea stall adjacent to his house at about 10:00pm on 28 August.
Critically injured, the deceased was first taken to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital and later shifted to DMCH.
The injured underwent a surgery at DMCH on Saturday evening, but died on Wednesday evening.
