A Dhaka court on Monday sent Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO) president Alhaj Mohammad Mosaddek Ali to Dhaka central jail.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court passed the order at about 2:40pm on Monday.

The court sent Mossadek Ali, also adviser to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia, to police custody for three days to be questioned on 7 February.

Detective Branch officers picked up Mossadak Ali from in front of the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office at about 8:00pm on 1 February. He was first taken to the DB headquarters. On the next day, he was charged with conducting an arson attack on a Turag Paribahan bus at Khilgaon in the capital.

Great Turag Transport Company Limited owner Nazrul Islam laid charges under the explosive substances act with the Khilgaon police against Mossadek Ali on 30 January.
